One of my favorite musical theater composers, Jason Robert Brown, wrote the music for a new Broadway show, "The Bridges of Madison County". There is a line in one of the songs that says "You were born with a wanderers soul". I think, well, I know, that's me. Life to me is truly an adventure. As much as I like structure, I struggle with sitting still. My mom always tells me, "you are either way too busy or too bored." It's true, I lack middle ground but it's something I am working on.
Today I wanted to share some fun things I've been up to these past few weeks. Maybe it will inspire you to try new things, meet new people, etc.
Run Group: Last year I joined a run group and it has been one of the best decisions I've made. We are called "Pannikin Runners" because we meet at Pannikin in Encinitas on Saturday mornings. I've made some great friends and some of us meet during the week to run as well. There are all ages and paces which is nice because there is something for everyone. If you like to run/jog/walk, come join us!
San Diego County Fair: Once a year (if that) I brave the fair. It's usually because there is a concert I want to see, which was the case this year. Since I knew Andy Grammer was playing, I organized a group of friends to attend. We had a blast! Andy knows how to work a crowd! His singing and dances moves were awesome. I don't know what was better, watching him or watching my roommate scream out of pure joy. ***His latest hit, "Honey, I'm Good" is awesome. Check out the music video, it won't disappoint!
A new coffee shop: When I work from a coffee shop, I have my go-to place, The Coffee Bean, because I love their chai tea lattes. However, I had a meeting with some of my lovely social media, lady friends and we met at Cafe Cantata in Del Mar. It's an adorable spot with good food and drinks. I'd suggest trying it sometime!
Santa Monica: My parents just got an apartment in Santa Monica so I went to visit. My mom is a master decorator. Her style is top-notch and I admire her for her good taste. Their place is fantastic because it is very close to the pier. I love running/biking the boardwalk and being walking distance to third street promenade.
